Fiesta in the Park
Seguimos Adelante - Marching Forward
The Town of North Hempstead, as presenting sponsor, in partnership with the Parent Resource Center, Port Washington Public Library, Port Washington Police Department, and Landmark on Main Street, proudly presents the fifth annual Hispanic Heritage Celebration (HHC): Fiesta in the Park. This year’s event will take place on Sunday, October 4, 2026, from 1:00–5:00 PM at Blumenfeld Family Park.
Our annual Fiesta in the Park celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month. National Hispanic Heritage Month has been honored in the United States since 1968. This celebration recognizes Port Washington families, community members, and businesses whose ancestors, histories, cultures, and contributions are rooted in Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America. This year’s theme, Moving Forward, celebrates the strength, resilience, and contributions of Hispanic and Latino communities while looking toward a bright future. It reminds us to honor our rich cultural heritage, learn from the experiences of those who came before us, and continue building opportunities for future generations. By moving forward together, we embrace growth, unity, and the positive impact our communities make every day.
At our event, you can look forward to a day filled with live music, dance, cultural performances, and a variety of sweet and savory Latin American cuisine. We will also feature children’s crafts inspired by Central and South American countries, ensuring there is something for every family member to enjoy. It is a day of family fun, cultural celebration, and community pride that you will not want to miss!
Multiple sponsorship levels are available to suit all budgets. We are proud to share that any additional proceeds from Fiesta in the Park benefit the Parent Resource Center’s Stepping Stones program. The PRC’s Stepping Stones program offers enrichment opportunities for families facing economic challenges, including a preschool readiness class for children ages 0–5, a play preschool program for preschool-age children, scholarships to PRC community classes, events and workshops, and summer enrichment opportunities. We also offer afterschool and weekend enrichment programs, educational advocacy as needed, and valuable community partnerships.
The Parent Resource Center is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (EIN #11-2576659), so your contribution is tax-deductible. If you have any questions, please contact us at 516-767-3808 or email director@parentresource.org.
