Fiesta in the Park 2024!

The Parent Resource Center, in partnership with Landmark on Main Street, Inc., the Port Washington Public Library, and the Town of North Hempstead, presents the third annual Fiesta in the Park Festival in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month. This year's event will take place on Sunday, October 6, 2024, in Blumenfeld Family Park in Port Washington, NY, from 2:00 to 6:00 pm.

National Hispanic Heritage Month has been a celebration honored in the U.S. since 1968. One in every four people in the United States is Hispanic and we are lucky this diversity is reflected in our Port Washington schools, where Hispanic students represent approximately 20% of the population.

This year's theme is “Somos Port Washington” (We are Port Washington), a celebration of our Hispanic Port Washington community from community leaders to small businesses and students.

Our Fiesta on October 6 will feature live music, dance, children’s performances and a variety of sweet and savory Latin American cuisine. We also have quality children’s crafts from Central and South American Countries, ensuring that there's something for everyone in the family to enjoy. It's a day of family fun that you won't want to miss!

Many levels of sponsorship support all budgets. We are proud to share that any additional proceeds collected for Fiesta in the Park are donated to the Parent Resource Center’s Stepping Stones program. The PRC’s Stepping Stones program offers enrichment opportunities for families who face economic challenges, including a preschool readiness class for children ages 0-5, a play preschool program for preschool-age children, scholarships to PRC community classes, events & workshops, and summer enrichment. We also offer afterschool and weekend enrichment programs, free educational advocacy as needed, and community partnerships.
