Sponsor the Hispanic Heritage Celebration: Fiesta in the Park

The Parent Resource Center, in partnership with Landmark on Main Street, Inc., the Port Washington Public Library, and the Town of North Hempstead, presents the third annual Hispanic Heritage Celebration (HHC): Fiesta in the Park. This year's event will take place on Sunday, October 6, 2024, in Blumenfeld Family Park. The rain date is Sunday, October 13, 2024.

Our annual Fiesta in the Park celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month. National Hispanic Heritage Month has been a celebration honored in the U.S. since 1968. This celebration aims to recognize Port Washington families, community members, and businesses who have influenced our town- supporting those whose ancestors, histories, cultures, and contributions derived from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America. This year's theme is Somos Port Washington; We are Port Washington, a celebration of our diverse culture through music, dance, art, and flavorful cuisines passed through the generations that can all be found here in and around Port Washington.

At our event, you can look forward to a day filled with live music, dance, children’s performances, and a variety of sweet and savory Latin American cuisine. We also have quality children’s crafts from Central and South American Countries, ensuring that there's something for everyone in the family to enjoy. It's a day of family fun that you won't want to miss!

Many levels of sponsorship support all budgets. We are proud to share that any proceeds from Fiesta in the Park are donated to the Parent Resource Center’s Stepping Stones program. The PRC’s Stepping Stones program offers enrichment opportunities for families who face economic challenges, including a preschool readiness class for children ages 0-5, a play preschool program for preschool-age children, scholarships to PRC community classes, events & workshops, and summer enrichment. We also offer afterschool and weekend enrichment programs, free educational advocacy as needed, and community partnerships.
